Fondazione Milano Scuole Civiche

Fondazione Milano Scuole Civiche is a Participatory Foundation established in 2000 by the Municipality of Milan. The Foundation was tasked with the management of four higher education Art and Culture schools teaching music, cinema and drama, as well as interpreting and translating.

The Foundation is the guardian of a much older tradition going back to the origin of the schools.

Civica Scuola di Musica Claudio Abbado was founded in 1862 and for 150 years now has been preparing outstanding musicians from no less than thirty countries.

Civica Scuola di Teatro Scuola Paolo Grassi was established by Paolo Grassi and Giorgio Strehler in 1951 and has always been a touchstone for Italian drama students.

Civica Scuola di Cinema Luchino Visconti was opened in the Sixties and offers a series of highly qualifying curricula drawn up in close collaboration with professionals from the film and television world.

Civica Scuola Interpreti e Traduttori Altiero Spinelli has been at the forefront of applied language teaching since 1980 and brings together Scuola Superiore per Mediatori Linguistici, which issues BA-level degrees, Istituto Superiore per Interpreti e Traduttori and Istituto di Relazioni Internazionali.
